Well, sorry it’s been a while since I posted and it is not that I have been idle it’s just that I haven’t felt the inspiration to write and share.
But, the Christmas holidays were ages ago and I am now back into the swing of things, pottering away. It can be a quiet time of year this but luckily I have some commissions to keep me busy. Check out my plovers and kingfishers in progress on the bench. These are now ready for final polishing and mounting on driftwood…. One of my favorite bits of the job as this is when they all display their individual character and uniqueness. Half have homes to go to and the other half will go into my ‘stock’.
Seeking inspiration, I thought of my next ‘Open Studio’ date…..Friday 1st February.
Umm, cold and grey sprang to mind. But, with Valentine’s Day only just around the corner, I thought, “let’s make it ‘Love is in the Air’”.
Yep, you’ve guessed it; hearts and lovebirds will be featuring quite strongly. Here are a few taster images to get you in the mood…
Being an optimist I had pictured these little hearts dangling from my apple tree, in the sunshine with piercing winter blue skies beyond, but hey-ho, it’s flipping freezing and rather grey so the photo shoot took place in the comfort of my living room. Hope you like the soft romantic colour scheme that I am going for.
And take a look at my latest applique scene. Nuzzling, little songbirds, all ‘loved-up’ on a berry-laden branch was the image I hoped to capture. I think it has a slightly Japanese feel and do you like the subtle heart shape of the piece. (Hey, when I’m on a theme – I embrace it!)
If you would like to see it finished then you shall have to come along to my next ‘Open Studio’.
Love the lovebirds Debbie!
Thank you Lynne….. I’m looking forward to grouting them
Hope I can make the 1st Feb have worked all you previous open days so far x
Be lovely to see you Gill,
Debbie
