Green Door Artists, of which I am a member, are hosting a show at The Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal, titled ‘Awakening’.

I was very excited and stimulated by this title particularly when I had just located some spectacular pieces of fallen wood.

Using hollowed out/rotten timber I was inspired to create a wee sleepy mouse and an even dozier Rabbit! The idea being, wee sleepy animal in the ‘burrow’ and the ‘awakening sibling up top…but I know you don’t need me to explain all that, it is very plain to see!

I loved making these and the amber glass just works brilliantly. The animal in the ‘hole’ just glows in the right light and looks sooooo cosy.

I had fun making more wired bindweed too…amazingly durable stuff and just adds that little bit extra.

….And exhibiting! Yes, they are now in place at the Brewery.

The Preview is on Saturday 24th January from 4pm-6pm and there will be tea and cakes, yum-yum. The show stays in place until the 4th March.
